Traineeships provide unemployed young people with the skills and experience to progress to an apprenticeship or sustainable work. The Traineeship includes the mandatory elements of work preparation training, work experience, English and Maths.
Our Traineeship learners gain real work experience and develop the skills to become work ready, enabling them to progress to an Apprenticeship or employment.
Our Traineeship is individual to meet your requirements, tailored to the sector you wish to work in. Work experience can be undertaken in a range of employers including:
Early Years Care, Retail, Health and Social Care, Business Administration, Media, Hairdressing, Barbering and many more…
You will undertake the following Mandatory elements:
- Work Preparation to help you progress to an Apprenticeship or sustained employment and address your employability needs, which will include CV writing, preparing for interviews, searching for jobs and developing interpersonal and communication skills.
- Work Experience totalling no less than 100 hours, which will be a minimum of two weeks with one employer or maximum 13 weeks, in a real working environment with an employer. You will work towards Work Experience Projects in the relevant sector to help you get the most out of your experience.
- English and Maths Functional Skills - If you have already achieved GCSE Grade C and above or GCSE Level 4 and above, you will be exempt, otherwise you will work towards the level above that in which you have achieved.
