If you like the idea of an office-based career and want to work in a business support role then this course is for you. You might also find it useful if you already work in business administration and you're looking to move on to in your career. The course will provide you with the knowledge and skills you'll need to work in any modern office across a range of sectors.
You'll explore different kinds of organisations looking at the ways they are structured and function. You'll develop practical office skills including organising and administering meetings, travel and accommodation, using office equipment such as the telephone, photocopier and computer, and managing diary systems and handling mail. You'll be using office computer packages for word processing, spreadsheets and electronic message systems for producing business documents, record keeping, communicating with colleagues, customers and clients. You will be trained to work as part of a team, learn customer service skills and how to plan and organise your work effectively. You can take optional specialist units that cover a wide range of business administration duties.
