Overview
Throughout the course you will explore modern vehicle technology including electrics, brakes, suspension and engines. Preparing you to progress on to an apprenticeship or gain employment in a fast fit centre.

Units you may study include:
Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment
Routine light vehicle maintenance
Removing and replacing light vehicle engine units and components
Understanding lubrication and cooling system units and components
Light vehicle fuel, ignition, air and exhaust system units and components
Health, safety and good housekeeping in the automotive environment
Employability skills

Entry requirements
Ideally at least 4 GCSEs at grade 9-4 or grade A*-D or a Level 1 qualification, but this is subject to discussion at your interview. If you haven't already achieved a GCSE grade 5 or grade C in English or Maths, then you will study either GCSE or Functional Skills English or Maths alongside your other qualifications.
