Overview
If you already have some sporting experience, this Level 2 course will help you specialise in the world of training and fitness. If you're interested in working in gyms, cruise ships, leisure centres or other venues then this is the perfect course for you.
Throughout the course you will lead groups and fitness sessions at beginner and intermediate level. You'll learn new leadership skills, planning, organising and delivering different sessions to groups. Included in the programme is basic first aid skills and how to deal with emergency scenarios. The programme also helps you to build experience working with clients in the gym and writing training programmes.

Entry requirements
Ideally at least 4 GCSEs at grade 9-4 or grade A*-D or a Level 1 qualification, but this is subject to discussion at your interview. If you haven't already achieved a GCSE grade 5 or grade C in English or Maths, then you will study either GCSE or Functional Skills English or Maths alongside your other qualifications.
Your next steps...
After completing your course you could progress on to study a Level 3 Diploma in Sport or Level 3 NVQ in Personal Training. Alternatively, you could progress straight into employment in the sport industry including an apprenticeship. Studying sport could lead to a career as a sports coach, youth leader, sport instructor, personal trainer, PE teacher, sports masseur, physiotherapist, sport scientist or many other opportunities.
