Overview
This course is aimed at individuals who have or would like to gain experience working as a fitness instructor in a gym. If you can demonstrate competence in planning, reviewing and adapting fitness programmes to different types of people and lead, teach and evaluate a range of fitness activities, then this could be the course for you. You will also complete a studio cycling course as part of your programme of study.

Entry requirements
Ideally at least 5 GCSEs at grade 9-5 or A*-C including English and Maths or a Level 2 Diploma in Instruction Exercise and Fitness, but this is subject to discussion at your interview. If you haven't already achieved a GCSE grade 5 or grade C in English or Maths, then you will study either GCSE or Functional Skills English or Maths alongside your other qualifications.
Your next steps...
After completing your course you could progress on to study sport, exercise science and related field at university. Alternatively, you could progress straight into employment in the sport industry including an apprenticeship. Studying sport could lead to a career as a sports coach, youth leader, sport instructor, personal trainer, PE teacher, sports masseur, physiotherapist, sport scientist or many other opportunities.
