Overview
Designed to give you a taste of the hospitality and catering industry, this Level 1 qualification is the starting point to an exciting career. You will learn basic skills and cooking techniques in preparation for employment in the hospitality and catering sector including apprenticeships or further study.

Entry requirements
Ideally at least 4 GCSEs or an Entry Level 3 qualification, but this is subject to discussion at your interview. If you haven't already achieved a GCSE grade 5 or grade C in English or Maths, then you will study either GCSE or Functional Skills English or Maths alongside your other qualifications.
Your next steps...
After completing your course you could progress straight into employment in the hospitality and catering industry including an apprenticeship or onto a level 2 qualification. Studying professional cookery could lead to a career as a chef, catering manager, restaurant manager and many other opportunities. In the future you could event open your own restaurant.
