What will you be working towards?

This programme will provide you with a broad introduction to the childcare sector, equipping you with underpinning knowledge and skills specific to the sector alongside a range of transferable employability skills. This course is designed to support progression to further learning and ultimately employment in childcare or other related sectors.
Units you may study include:
Physical development of young children
Healthy eating for families
Communication within a childcare setting
Preparing for work placement, there is no mandatory work placement, however work experience will be part of the course
Preparing for an interview
Working as a team
How will it be delivered?
100% Assessment - Coursework
Ideally at least 4 GCSEs or an Entry Level 3 qualification, but this is subject to discussion at your interview. If you haven't already achieved a GCSE grade 5 or grade C in English or Maths, then you will study either GCSE or Functional Skills English or Maths alongside your other qualifications. Acceptance to the programme will be subject to a DBS check.
