Overview

This Level 2 Technical Certificate in Painting and Decorating is aimed at those looking to work in the construction industry specifically as a crafts person in painting and decorating. A painter and decorator has the skills and knowledge to use a range of coverings such as paint and wallpaper to enhance and protect surfaces such as plaster, metal and wood, playing an important part of any construction team. You will gain an understanding of the skills and knowledge that are important when you are working as a painter and decorator or progressing to further learning and training in this area. Employer involvement is mandatory on this course and the College will help secure you a placement.

Entry requirements

Ideally at least 4 GCSEs at grade 9-4 or grade A*-D or a Level 1 qualification, but this is subject to discussion at your interview. If you haven't already achieved a GCSE grade 5 or grade C in English or Maths, then you will study either GCSE or Functional Skills English or Maths alongside your other qualifications.
