Overview
The Extended Diploma builds on from the Level 3 Diploma course and is the equivalent of three A Levels. This course will refine and develop skills acquired in the first year in preparation for university and employment, along with apprenticeships. Throughout this second year you will develop a greater sense of independence and creativity, extending, refining and developing your skills whilst specialising in one area of art and design.

Entry requirements
Ideally at least 5 GCSEs at grade 9-5 or A*-C including English, Maths and a creative subject or a Level 2 qualification, but this is subject to discussion at your interview. If you haven't already achieved a GCSE grade 5 or grade C in English or Maths, then you will study either GCSE or Functional Skills English or Maths alongside your other qualifications.
Your next steps...
After completing your course you could progress on to study design, fine art, cinematics, film, photography, interior design, fashion or related fields at university. Alternatively, you could progress straight into employment including apprenticeships. Studying art and design could lead to a career as a graphic designer, fine artist, gallery or museum curator, printmaker, fashion designer, photographer, illustrator, sculptor and many other opportunities.
